This demo video of yamaha shows it all..
This is music their grandparrents like.. Despite the fact that arrangers and multipads are perfect tools for EDM and hip-hop
The content never adapted to these younger folks...

Because Arranger Keyboards are not sexy .
Because of the One Finger System .
Because of the Midi Files and the Vocal Harmony System .
And some other reasons .....

But with the right comtent arrangers could be very sexy The one finger system is not keeping away the young peeps, its keeping away the midle aged so called professional musicians Midi is all around in their current setup And the vh can be very cool The only real reason is the comtent its wrapped in.... And offcourse the prices of totl arrangers...

Right.
Does not sell to the young people if they continue marketing arrangers with music like the music types in the video. No youngster will sound like this!

Hi Joso and Admin , You are right , they are marketing with the wrong types of music .
But I stay to my opinion .
Because of the One Finger System Arranger players are laughed at .
They see a Midifile ( a complete Song-Midifile ) player as a cheater . A singer with a Midifile pretending to be a keyboardplayer is Karaoke in Disguise .
I am not talking about Styles and MultiPads now .
And by the Vocal Harmoniser everyone can sing , even if you can't sing without that helpsystem .
The Arranger Keyboard has got a wrong image , young people got their opinion from older professional musicians .
Their wrongful understanding is hard to get out of the world .
The only way to save the Arranger is a complete new way of marketing .
My opinion : The top Arrangers of today are the best and most complete music workstations there are .

In this era of instant gratification, it galls me when people will request a song, for example, and assume my arranger is merely a jukebox, and I am not really playing the parts I am. I spend considerable time in constructing my registrations and performance. It is not that they don't think it is good, but that it is far more automated than it really is.
Rodney Dangerfield comes to mind.

I personally think arranger keyboards are great, I have a Tyros 5 and love it to bits, but if I wanted to take it anywhere what a pain it is as I am nearly 70 and it's simply to big and heavy for me to move about. Now I have and Ipad with various apps on which allow me to use it as a sound module, and with a 25 note midi keyboard which will all fit into a hold all I can go and jam with my friends and just plug the audio output into one of their amps.
Music has and is constantly changing and while the arranger is great for lots of music styles, it does lack the flexibility for some styles of music that say a workstation has. so I guess what I am say its horses for course, the young tend to want to be more creative in their approach to music were as a lot ( not all ) arranger players tend to play a very different type/style of music, and I include myself in that last statement.
Just my opinion , Brian007

Just my opinion , Brian007 Just look at the Upcomming Genos, Yamaha is finally catching up to the last decade of music development.. An arranger keyboard should be able to create all types of music, including the most modern EDM... Its meant to play almost anything out of the box or with a little edditing. Thats what makes them so great.. I think the latest addition of the Genos makes it every bit an arranger But also invites younger performers to join the troups

Hi Admin,
Lets hope your right as it would be good for everyone if more young musicians found out and used the arranger keyboard.

I think the latest addition of the Genos makes it every bit an arranger But also invites younger performers to join the troups............... young kids of today who want to get into arrangers are not going to fork out for a genos...what on a whim?...the genos is aimed at the folks who are already competent at keyboard playing...the price itself doesn't invite any youngsters to the world of arranger keyboards...the genos is aimed at the established player

It might also interest the teens, and if dady has enough money, he will buy an arranger for both himself as well as the kids In a way a few decades ago organs where a fammily thing, where both parents and kids got into music lessons. The Genos is aomed at people with a lot of money to spend, and both suited for beginners as well as established players, as well as people moving in from other types of keyboard instruments
