Just picked up a jupiter-80 the Saturday before Christmas which was only 2 months old from new (s/h) and i have been missing all over Christmas this year to my family and friends as you just could not pull me away from it... this is one set of key's I can't imagine ever getting rid off ...i see Roland have discontinued the Jupiter-80 so I wonder if there is a replacement in the wings?? or could it be looking at the Roland trends of late that this is the last of its type from Roland?....may now have to find a 2nd Jupiter-80 too put away in storage (!) .....i have put the Vangelis library in it and....FANTASTIC

I just love the jupiter 80... the live sets of 4 sounds each with several kinds of imteraction are incredible.. having 10 sounds spread over the keybed is great to And the SN sounds are still top knotch.. both the acoustic as well as the synth sounds..
To me the jupiter 80 was also a bit of a dissapointment as i envisioned it as the follow up to my beloved V-synth But the more i think anout it, the more i realise it wasn’t the predecessor of the v-synth There is rumor of a new high end Roland keyboard at Namm, i asked Ed Diazz, and he just smiled...
But with Roland the new keys come out of the high hat, there is not much consistemcy And the new high end key may be a lot different then the jupiter 80.. But then, not having follow ups makes the old instruments like V-synth and jupiter 80 live much longer
