Seems that Korg has quite some new engines that they can add to a new workstation in the future
- 2 new organ engines (as seen in the grand stage on Namm) - a wavestation engine (windows / ipad) - the arp odyssey engine (ipad) - electribe ( for ipad) - M1 engine (Windows / ipad - mono/poly (windows)
And then there is a few gadget engines, that definately would be appreciated in a new workstation...
And what about : - a MOSS based engine - some of those brutal filters from the king korg - the italian grand, as seen on the grand stage..
It seems like Korg recently started to poop out new synth engines, with all the ipad stuff... seems to me that the future is looking bright...
But then, is it more engines that make a workstation better, do you think that adding more engines makes a workstation a better instrument?

While adding engines isn't necessarily a must for making a workstation better it can certainly help a lot by providing a more expansive sound palette. But UI and OS features also factor into it as well. But I must admit I do like additional engines. OK I am a greedy bastard I want it all.

For Korg kronos that means Giving the UI and touchscreen an update to be more in line with their IOS apps is definately a needed thing.. Also the pots need to become endless encoders.. with a light ring, same goes for the sliders.. And there do need to be some programmable (drum) pads on board.. And where it comes to OS features, Hoping for integration of Styles and pads from pa4x would be to much But with the right content But if they would add a drumroll to the current sequencer Or just use the gadget sequencer next to the current one And then add the step sequencer of the kross and the arpeggiators of the Krome And the sound banks system has to many limiting things... Sound selection should be on base of several parameters much like on the high end VST's with an option to create BANKS of favorites for direct access.. But limiting the number of sounds by the number of banks/slots is 20th century yes definately, needs an update to... Fun thing however, is that many of the kronos users are perfectly happy with the instrument as is.. Me, i am more like you, i want it all...
