There has been a lot of discussion for many years now. Weather its efficient to edit midi sequnces on an arranger or workstation keyboard.. Here are 2 examples of the current situation.. These editors are event editors..
So what a keyboard really needs to be maximum efficient is a pianoroll editor on top of the event editor(which also has its own advantages) Now whats possible on 9.7" ipad should be doable on any keyboards touchscreen of comparable or bigger size. Another option could be to have an ipad editor app, to edit onboard midi data. Using the much easier programmable ipad for the graphical interface.
Fun thing is, Korg Kronos has a basic piano roll editor in the Krome.. Somehow it never made it to the Kronos and the Pa4x Probably because the screens are just a tad to small.. But the technollogy is there in a keyboard
So who will incorporate a piano roll editor and a big screen in their new arranger or workstation?
