Quite interesting that the Ajamsonic SD40's have 46 RAM sounds too. Don't know whether these are the same RAM sounds as those in the SD7 but it's encouraging that these are now on offer. Such a pity that that we cannot purchase these in the UK or elsewhere in Europe. Why can't Ketron make them available to us and we could then have a module that really is almost an SD7? Good luck to AJ for his efforts in promoting Ketron instruments - that guy is worth his weight in gold (as we say over here) Follow his lead Ketron - nobody gets rich without successful marketing. Would also be a good idea to introduce an SD9 module too when the SD9 appears on the market. Tony Sheffield UK

Although I'm glad to hear that, it raises many questions - How are they supplied and how does one install them into an SD40 (or even into my Midjpro). I have never heard of anyone but AJ supplying or fitting/installing RAM Disk Voices.
I have no idea whether it would invalidate my warranty because, when I bought my Midjpro from Ketron UK I asked about the Ajamsonic voices for that and was told that they didn't sell them and if I bought them from elsewhere, my warranty would be invalidated.
Although I think that Ketron make the best instruments on the market, it pains me to find that their marketing is so poor that you can buy these voices in the USA or in Holland but not in the UK. No one tells us how we can use an empty RAM Disk or indeed, if there is a RAM disk fitted to our instrument. If it wasn't for AJ, we would know nothing about our instruments at all. Tony

Tony Thats a strange thing, that it invokes your warranty in Britain, but not in Holland or the USA... I could ask for you overhere in holland how its done, when i visit the shop, or i could even mail them if you would like that.... I did also mail Ketron in Italy and aksed them for a list of all Ketron dealers worldwide, so i could publish that here on our website, but they sadly never responded.

Thank you, it would be nice to have more information about this. No hurry though - when you next visit the shop will be fine. I have never yet had a reply whenever I've emailed Ketron Italy and Ketron UK never seem to have any information about anything. As a good Ketron fan, I feel that they let us down and they also let themselves down. Tony

Tony, Here in the USA when we order any Ketron product it usually will have the option to come with or without the AJAMSONIC package already installed. The AJAMSONIC material is developed by AJ here in the USA. you can contact AJ directly at KETRONUSA@AJAMSONIC.COM and get an accurate answer. He also has a GOLD PACKAGE of user sounds and styles available. By the way, AJ is great at providing us with support and answering our questions either by phone or email.

Hi Deane, Yes, I know what a great guy AJ is with regard to Ketrons - just wish He'd take up residence in the UK. The only reason I have not contacted AJ is that Ketron UK told me that If I buy Ajamsonic products, the warranty won't be covered here in the UK. I know he should be able to answer my queries information wise but I feel reluctant to trouble him unless I were buying from him and, as I say, that could turn out to be problematic were things to go wrong. I also have to make up my mind whether to buy an SD40 when I already have a Midjpro - If the SD40 had the full SD7 spec (in other words, the RAM sounds) then that would be the decider for me. Another way Ketron could help their sales is to do Part Exchange Trade-In deals. I enquired at Ketron UK and they won't do this. That's the main problem with not having a dealer network (at least in the UK) so it means having to sell your last Ketron privately - not easy as many people haven't even heard of them before and don't know how good they are. Tony
Sorry, had to edit the post as I mistakenly put MS40 instead of SD 40 - probably because I have a MS40 which has given good service for around 17 years and which first turned me on to Ketron.
